Howie Greene, talk show host, politician, executive producer and former manager for James Brown, visited the Flamingo Lounge on May 11, 2022 for a fun-filled conversation on music and the entertainment industry.

James Brown and Howie at the first Bonaroo Festival. It was 102 degrees that day. Howie’s suit jacket was drenched in this pic and I he hadn’t even done his first split.

Mr. Greene, following a successful career in show business, politics and public relations re-patriated to Buffalo in 2015. Prior to his moving back to the city he’s always loved, Howie spent several years as part of the management team for The Godfather of Soul, James Brown, traveling the world with him.

He currently works with The James Brown Family Foundation and The Soul Generals, featuring former James Brown band members.

Previously, Greene was a radio talk show host and morning drive personality in Denver, Cleveland, Southern California, New York City Washington DC. and Albany, NY. He also was an Executive Producer and host at Sirius/XM for several years.

He is a graduate of Buffalo State College where he was one of the founding members of WBNY-FM.  He is also a proud member of the Buffalo Bills Mafia.

Howie with Miss Martha High. Miss High, formerly of The Jewels from Washington DC, was with James Brown as a backup singer starting in 1964. She’s also toured with Maceo Parker and now fronts her own band, performing around the world.
