Multi-instrumentalist, Dave Mucha, who has played with many local musicians and is a Buffalo Music Hall of Fame Inductee with McCarthyizm joined Rockabilly Greg In the Flamingo Lounge for a great musical conversation on July 26, 2023.

Dave Mucha has had a successful and storied career playing and teaching over the years. Below are some highlights from Dave’s career:

1976 – start on Drums

1978 – 1985 – accordion

1986 – start on electric bass

1987 – 1st high school band

  • Played HS parties and graduations etc.

1988 – 1991 – “The Music Mall Years” – played with countless bands

  • Played in a band with Leah and Joe Pinnavaia
    • Kevin Blakita – Band named “Cinema”
    • Kid Wicked – Gene Schmitt, Leo Gastle and Tom Pfalzer Also, Val Mejia for a stint.
    • Lessons with Steve Truisi

1991 – Start Buff State

  • Lessons with Al Tinney, Greg Piontek, Stu Weisman, Jim Beishline and Rodney Appleby

1995 – Start at Daddy’s Junky Music

  • Met and played with so many people, it’s impossible to keep track!
    • Geno McManus – Junkulture, The Million Dollar Trio (with Jeff Schaller)
    • Started playing with Joe Dzialak (and have been ever since)
      • Burn – Best Original Rock Band – 1999 with Joe Dzialak, Michael Mcguire and Joe Suplicki
      • Dreamland, Eve’s Apple, Last Revolution, SuperCharger (current)
      • Hit n Run 1995-1999

1999 – Join McCarthyizm

  • Buffalo Music Awards – Best Original Band 2006, 2007, 2008

2009 – Inducted into the Buffalo Music Hall of Fame as a member of McCarthyizm

2016 – CODA with Michael McGuire, Jon Conners, Dan Delano
