This week’s episode of In the Flamingo Lounge is a little different, as I focused on music venues and music fans.

Music is an essential part of our culture and live venues allow fans, who are the lifeblood of the music industry, to experience the music in a way that they cannot through recordings.

Music fans and venues create a sense of community for musicians and live performances give musicians an opportunity to build a following and connect with their fans.

I first traveled to Diamond Hawk Golf Course and Pub to speak with Managing Partner, Don Papaj and Director of Golf, Fred Zillner about their decision to offer live music at a golf course.

The second guest, Pearson Constantino, is a friend and family member who currently resides in Troy NY. Pearson is a musician who has traveled to Buffalo in the past to perform, and is a host of his own radio show on 102.7 WEQX that focuses on local talent out of Manchester. I talked with him about the importance of highlighting local music and his viewpoint on the Buffalo scene as he has performed and recorded in Buffalo.
