Donna DeLano-Kerr is a Grammy nominated music educator, musician, performer and founder of The Buffalo Dolls. She proudly raised a beautiful family, taught in the Buffalo Public Schools for over 32 years and has been extensively involved in the Buffalo music scene.

Donna joined Rockabilly Greg “In the Flamingo Lounge” to talk of her musical upbringing and experiences in music education and musical theatre working with The Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, Shea’s Performing Arts Center, Buffalo Music Hall of Fame and Sportsmens Americana Music Foundation.

JazzBuffalo Poll favorites in town, Donna and The Buffalo Dolls have been nominated and awarded in several categories for Best Jazz Educator, Best Female Jazz Vocalist, Best Retro-Jazz Pop Vocal Group, Best Traditional Jazz Group, Best Large Jazz Ensemble and Combo and Most Memorable Performance for their “A Jazzy Christmas” holiday special performed at The Hotel Henry with Ladies First Jazz alongside guest vocalists, Dan DeLano and Greg Hennessey.

The Buffalo Dolls homage to the music of the Big Band and Swing Era with a “Buffalo flair” has been delighting audiences throughout Western New York, and beyond with vintage-themed, three part harmony arrangements reminiscent of The Andrews Sisters. In addition to live Jazz concerts and dances, the group has been given the honor on many occasions to perform locally and in Washington, DC for our country’s beloved servicemen and women, veterans and those in need of memory care.

Donna can be seen and heard performing all over town as a guest soloist, soloist and piano or guitar duo at various Jazz clubs, The Buffalo Dolls, Ladies First Jazz, Alex René Big Band, The Darts, Dreamville Tom Petty Tribute with Leroy Townes Band, and most recently with My Cousin Tone. She will be a featured singer and instrumentalist for the second year in a row for the Buffalo Music Coalition’s performance of “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” A Tribute to Women in Music – Rock, Blues, Pop and Country.
