40-year veteran drummer Marty Raymondo joined Rockabilly Greg “In the Flamingo Lounge” on March 8, 2023 and had a great conversation on drumming.

Marty Raymondo Has been a part of the WNY music scene for nearly 40 years. A native of Hamburg NY, where he still resides today, he was taught by master drummer/percussionist Anthony Miranda. He’s a graduate of St. Francis High School and went on to study music and performance at Villa Maria College. He went on to The University of Buffalo for 2 years afterwards earning his performance degree in Drums/Percussion.

He’s been very active in the music scene as a freelance performer playing with bands like JJ Swing, Group Therapy, Black Widow, Hit N Run and Only Humen. He is currently playing with bands: Applejack Band, Mid Life Crisis, Mo Porter and others.

Marty has recorded with local Blues guitarist Maria Aurigema and the Clark Rabbitt Band at GCR Studios. He can be heard on Maria’s CD “Long Way Home” and Clark Rabbitt Band’s “Made In America” CD. He has a cameo in JJ Swing’s second album “Tribute”.

Marty considers himself to be lucky having played with so many bands and wonderful musicians that he states have made him a better musician today.
