This week, the Flamingo Lounge welcomes Kaley Lynch, Andrea Lynch, Evan Kaminski, and Mike Militello from Karma Queen, a Buffalo, New York-based four-piece woman-fronted indie pop/rock band. We listened to some of the band’s recent tracks and delved into their musical influences, songwriting techniques, and engaged in a lively discussion about their creative process.

Inspired by CHVRCHES, Florence and the Machine, Paramore, and Beabadoobee, Karma Queen welds together shimmering guitar riffs, clever lyrics, and catchy grooves to create a unique and pliable sound.

Lead vocalist Kaley Lynch and drummer/bari saxophonist Evan Kaminski played in a band together for five years prior to forming Karma Queen with Kaley’s sister, guitarist Andrea Lynch, and bassist Mike Militello. Every member of the band plays more than one instrument, providing a unique and pliable sound.

The name “Karma Queen” is a play on the phrase “drama queen” – with an emphasis on karma, not drama.

Karma Queen was named “Best Indie Band” by All WNY Music Awards 2022.
